Objective: To know the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on urological practice in Mexico.
Material and Methods: An online survey was applied to Mexican urologists using the SURVIO® application from March 16th to 22nd 2020 consisting of 8 dichotomous and multiple-choice items on urological practice and its impairment due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Results: A total of 374 answers were received; 66% answered that the institution they work had already issued a management protocol for patients with COVID-19, 80% of the participants denied that urology consultation had been rescheduled or canceled at their workplaces; 42% did not know which surgeries should be rescheduled and the tools they will use to replace face-to-face consultation include digital applications.
Limiting: This is a survey with its inherent limitations.
Originality: Original work with an overview of how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted daily urological practice.
Conclusions: The COVID-19 pandemic poses a challenge for the entire health system. Urological practice will face unprecedented changes at this time and in the future.
