Open Access Policy

The authors who publish in Revista Mexicana de Urología accept the following conditions:

All the articles published in Revista Mexicana de Urología are disseminated in open access and are freely available, immediately after publication. Revista Mexicana de Urología does not charge the authors for sending and processing articles for publication at all.

Use of Creative Commons (CC) Licenses
All texts published by the Mexican Journal of Urology are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits copying and redistribution of the material in any medium or format, provided that proper credit is given to the authors, it is not used for commercial purposes, and modified, adapted, or derivative versions of the work are not shared.

Any reuse must properly cite the original publication in the Mexican Journal of Urology.

Authors' Rights
In accordance with current copyright legislation, the Mexican Journal of Urology recognizes and respects the moral rights of the authors, as well as the ownership of the economic rights, which will be transferred—on a non-exclusive basis—to the journal to allow its legal dissemination in Open Access.

Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the article published in the Revista Mexicana de Urología (for example, including it in an institutional repository or publishing it in other print or electronic media), provided that it is clearly and explicitly stated that the work was first published in the Revista Mexicana de Urología.

For all of the above, authors must submit the duly completed and signed copyright transfer agreement form. This form must be submitted along with the manuscript through the OJS platform.

Readers' Rights
Under the principles of Open Access, readers of the journal have the right to freely read, print, and distribute the journal's content by any means immediately following its online publication. The only requirement for this is that it is always clearly and explicitly stated that the work was first published in the Mexican Journal of Urology (RMU), the source and corresponding DOI are correctly cited, and it is redistributed for non-commercial purposes.
