Correlación de la severidad de los síntomas del tracto urinario inferior en hombres con diabetes mellitus.

Objetivo: Determinar la correlación de la severidad de los STUI en hombres con diabetes mellitus; Material y Métodos: Estudio transversal y analítico en una unidad de medicina familiar en la CDMX durante el 2022 en 338 sujetos, se evaluó la severidad de los STUI mediante la Escala Visual Análoga Gea®, el análisis fue por estadística descriptiva e inferencial mediante correlación Rho de Spearman, tomando p <0.05 para la significancia estadística. Resultados: Se encontró diferencia entre la severidad de nicturia con DM, con mayor frecuencia de nicturia en la DM; encontrando correlaciones bajas en algunos síntomas de STUI con edad, tabaquismo e HPB; calidad de vida con correlaciones negativas bajas a moderadas con todos los STUI. Limitaciones del estudio: Similar a investigaciones previas, carencia de temporalidad. Originalidad: Pocas investigaciones demuestran que los STUI no están directamente relacionados con la DM. Conclusiones: Las correlaciones entre diabetes y síntomas del tracto urinario inferior fueron pobres y en su mayoría no significativas, a pesar que hay literatura mencionando esta asociación, no es suficiente para deducir que la diabetes corresponda a un factor determinante en la severidad de los STUI.
